The First Step - How To Start This Journey?

What are we really learning?

Our aim is to build effective trading robots using MQL5. To do this, we will need knowledge on a few things:

• MQL5 Coding Fundamentals
• Robot Design and Market Theories

In this course, we are only going to focus on MQL5 Coding Fundamentals. We will throw in some content on Robot Design and Market Theories from time to time but that is not the focus of this course - think of those content as extra material. Lectures on those contents are labelled “AlgoTrading101 Design Theory”.

Project-Based Learning

This course is designed based on Project-Based learning. This entails:

Step 1: Teaching a bite-sized piece knowledge

Step 2: Designing and coding a robot using what we learn

Step 3: Repeat Step 1 and Step 2!

Keep a notebook with you when you watch the videos and take notes!

I cannot stress how important this is. Keep notes and structure them in an organised manner. As you take notes, you will realise how the different parts of the course fit together.
